Here’s a teaser trailer for the seriously awesome Dark Horse comic series The Goon. The movie’s being done by Blur studios, the studio behind a lot of very cool video game trailers and intros, as well as a bunch of very cool animated shorts, like A Gentleman’s Duel and Rockfish.

So, this is a thing that’s happening. Evidently there will be an animated Warhammer 40k movie. Details are sparse at this point, save for the list of voice actors, some interviews, some concept art, and some test animations.

Here’s a cool one for the Monday Music Video this week. I discovered it over on Cartoon Brew, where they were mostly talking about the animation (which is a nod to old animation from the 30s), but the music itself is pretty good too! Holy shit! This is seriously awesome. Jaroo is a new site that lets you watch cartoons online, and they’ve got A LOT of them! Of particular interest, they’ve got Zelda, Captain N, and StarCom. Hopefully more will be added later.

Remember when they had the Matrix sequels and they did an animated Matrix thing? This kind of reminds of that, but that’s not to say it looks bad or anything, it just reminds me of it. I’m not crazy about the Wolverine reinterpretation, but Iron Man looks pretty slick.
Fox is recasting Futurama!

Oh hell no.
As excited as I was about the return of Futurama, FOX has once again ruined that experience by their callous actions. According to no less than cast members John DiMaggio, Phil LaMarr, and Maurice LaMarche on their Facebook pages, a casting notice has gone out to replace actors DiMaggio, LaMarche, Billy West and Katy Sagal.

So, Amanda and I are thinking it might be fun to go to FanExpo this year. The convention is like a celebration of all our geeky interests in one big place. Comics, Sci-fi, Anime, Gaming, and Horror all rolled into one. The event is in downtown Toronto on the 28th of August to the 30th. Tickets are between $10 and $75, depending on which package you get. Bring your wives, your girlfriends, your friends, whoever you want! When we know who’s coming, we can sort out the details of meeting near the convention centre and going in together, or whatever works best for everyone. Let me know if you’re interested!

As it turns out, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are 25 this year. Hardly teenagers at this point, I’d say. Furthermore, this makes me feel old now.
We totally need to have a TMNT game sometime (Savage Worlds would be PERFECT).

While I’m not crazy about Japanese music, generally, I thought this was a really cool bit of machinima. It’s got a bit of a spoiler as to the origins of a certain NPC in Stormwind, but they’ve since changed things around with the expansion anyway, so I suppose it’s a moot point now.
