The Losers
The Losers is based on a comic series that I’ve heard about but never read. The trailer looks pretty awesome. Bonus points for using Eagles of Death Metal in the ad, too!

Remember when they had the Matrix sequels and they did an animated Matrix thing? This kind of reminds of that, but that’s not to say it looks bad or anything, it just reminds me of it. I’m not crazy about the Wolverine reinterpretation, but Iron Man looks pretty slick.
So, Amanda and I are thinking it might be fun to go to FanExpo this year. The convention is like a celebration of all our geeky interests in one big place. Comics, Sci-fi, Anime, Gaming, and Horror all rolled into one. The event is in downtown Toronto on the 28th of August to the 30th. Tickets are between $10 and $75, depending on which package you get. Bring your wives, your girlfriends, your friends, whoever you want! When we know who’s coming, we can sort out the details of meeting near the convention centre and going in together, or whatever works best for everyone. Let me know if you’re interested!
Well I think this is official as we have ever gotten on a road trip like this. But here is graphical evidence that we are indeed going. Now please note for everyone else interested, you can go to the PAX East site and do pre registration. You have the option of having your badges sent to you via FED Ex (which I did). I bought these now as I owed Curt from awhile back so rather then get lost in translation now it’s fucking booked! Oh yeah!

As it turns out, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are 25 this year. Hardly teenagers at this point, I’d say. Furthermore, this makes me feel old now.
We totally need to have a TMNT game sometime (Savage Worlds would be PERFECT).
It really should come as little surprise that Jhonen Vasquez has a blog (and a Twitter account, it seems), but to be honest the thought didn’t cross my mind up until this was posted on one of the gaming blogs I read.
If you’re scratching your head as to who this character is, he’s the guy who created both Johnny the Homicidal Maniac as well as our beloved Invader Zim.
Regardless, it’s an interesting read, and I recommend checking it out via the link below.
I love climbing and slaughtering collosi or tearing people limb from limb, channeling the anger from being tricked by Ares into slaughtering my innocent family as much as the next virtual escapist, but I’m always interested in games that present an experience far enough removed from the usual thing to be looked thought of not as a mere game but as a more artistic extension and expression of something as abstract as human dreams. Not to say that tearing someone’s arms off, impaling them against a door and then kicking them to open said door isn’t something we’ve all dreamed of, but something a bit more scaled back as the ability to fly is a nice diversion as well, and more today’s subject.
While the Watchmen is not your typical superhero story (it’s really not about kicking ass so much as philosophy), but this is still very cool.

Apparently this was a preview they played before the Dark Knight. If you haven’t seen it yet, you really should check it out. Having read the graphic novel and loved it, I really can’t wait to see this as it looks like it’s going to be pretty faithful to the book.
Oh, and it comes out on my birthday, so that’s awesome too!
