The Best Freeware Games of 2007

This is pretty nifty. I know I can vouch for the awesomeness of the Knytt games, that’s for sure.

As the year comes to a close, I decided that I would make a list of the best freeware games released THIS year. Note: these are my opinions, so don’t get mad if your favorite game doesn’t make the list or a game you don’t like does.

Fistful of Frags Beta

Fistful of Frags is a multiplayer modification built over Valve’s Source Engine. Our game is set in the Old West, but it doesn’t matter if you are a die hard fan of western based games or not, we simply want to create an original gaming experience oriented to any gamer who enjoys competitive online first person shooters.

Lost Odyssey Trailer

Lost Odyssey is this new RPG for the 360 being made by alot of ex-patriots from Square. In particular, Hironobu Sakaguchi. Basically the guy who created Final Fantasy.

This trailer is notable because it breaks the mold and uses music you wouldn’t normally pair with a fantasy RPG. I’m not sure it fits really well, but I’ve gotta commend them for trying at least.

Check it out on Kotaku.

Sony Replacing the 80gb PS3?

There’s a rumour going around that Sony is going to drop the 80gb PS3 and release a 120gb… or 160gb… or whatever model to replace it. Details within this mystical link to another world! While I wasn’t really planning on getting a PS3 anytime soon, I might just have to wait even longer just in case they bundle it with a DualShock 3, as opposed to the non-rumbly controller they have now. Time will tell.
