Man, I loved Red Dead Revolver on the PS2, so this comes as awesome news to me. It’s like what Gun was supposed to be, but you know, not garbage.
Red Dead Redemption, is being developed by Rockstar San Diego, and it’s scheduled for a fall 2009 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
According to Rockstar Games, who announced the game today: [Red Dead Redemption is] “set at the turn of the 20th century when the lawless and chaotic badlands began to give way to the expanding reach of government and the spread of the Industrial Age. The story of former outlaw, John Marston, Red Dead Redemption takes players on a great adventure across the American frontier.”
The utilizes the Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE), the same technology used to power all of Rockstar’s next-gen games, including Grand Theft Auto IV and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Redemption features an open world, letting players explore frontier towns, prairies populated by wildlife, and more.
